The US Treasury Department gave automakers additional flexibility on battery mineral requirements for EV tax credits on some minerals from China, such as graphite.
The plant is expected to be capable of recycling up to 30,000 metric tons of palm kernel material equivalent to produce up to 10,000 metric tons of battery-grade, artificial graphite per year.
Natural graphite and aluminium are the materials most commonly used across military applications and are also subject to considerable supply security risks.
